Today, Value Network joined many public, private, healthcare, and nonprofit #partners in #WNY to unveil the #crisiscarecollaborative. This innovative effort is aimed to improve the response to people experiencing a mental health emergency.
Erie County Sheriff's Office data shows that one out of four people in the Erie County Holding Center has been diagnosed with a serious mental illness.
This effort is aimed at improving the response to individuals in the community, and ensuring they receive timely and compassionate care.
Value Network Director of Clinical/Quality Transformation, LaTonya Diggs, LMSW, CCM has been instrumental in this group's efforts thus far. She has been working closely with the Erie County Department of Mental Health and Jane Mogavero from The Patrick Lee Foundation to lead a workgroup focused on developing a mental health crisis response training tool to assist community partners in these efforts.
To assist with these efforts, the WNY community will soon benefit from a new Intensive Crisis Stabilization Center that will be housed on Niagara Street and operated by VN Partner BestSelf Behavioral Health.
